The Wobblies - Film screening

Join us for another film screening at UNLV! We will be watching The Wobblies, a documentary about the early socialist movement in the US. The documentary features interviews with veteran organizers in the IWW, active in the early 1900s. IWW members, called "wobblies," were non-sectarian working class organizers who accepted all applying workers as members, regardless of ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, etc, in contrast with other unions which discriminated based on ethnic or gender identity. The wobblies faced dire repression as a consequence of many members' opposition to participation in World War I. Join us to learn about the tradition of socialist organizing in the US!
