Join us next week at Leavenworth City Hall to keep dialing up the pressure on the City to cut out CoreCivic. We do not want mass detention centers anywhere near us! Show up and tell the City that we don't care if CoreCivic has a special use permit, or if they pay a "performance bond" as a bribe to allow the facility to operate: the people demand NO detention centers! If this approval goes through, it will provide ICE with needed infrastructure to carry out mass raids not just near Leavenworth but in KC as well. Trump's racist deportation machine must and can be defeated by an organized and united working class. Together, we can win! We recently made it impossible in Kansas City to prop up a detention center, short of the federal government stepping in directly.
