Haya, Azza, and Abdullah are the first three activists in the UK to be arrested and charged with a serious criminal offence for allegedly chanting the word “intifada”, as the government escalates their racist repression by banning words in the Arabic language. This case is being treated as a test case by the government, and we must all come together to oppose such a dangerous precedent. While the UK tries to frame itself as a champion of democracy, freedom of speech doesn’t truly exist in this country.
