Cowlitz County 50501 Movement
Supply Drive/Demonstration
While the government sorts out the shutdown, people are still in need. Even when SNAP begins flowing properly again, food scarcity remains an issue for so many. So we are asking once again for you to bring food and supply donations to the march on Saturday.
We accept any food items, but of vital importance at the moment:
- diapers and baby supplies
- baby formula in particular
- toiletries
- blankets and socks
- tuna, peanut butter, non-perishable protein
We are collecting for Lower Columbia CAP as well as a couple of specialized food charities. For these, we can especially use PET FOOD and GRAB AND GO snack type foods (ramen, bars, etc).
Cash donations are also quite helpful! CAP is able to buy food wholesale and stretch those dollars. They also help with utility bills, which gets real important this time of year.
The forecast shows typical Washington November, but as we saw before, that won't stop community minded folks like us from coming together for Cowlitz. Last time we collected over 2000 lbs. of food.
Let's do it again.
