Jewish Voice for Peace - Los Angeles

Tashlich & River Clean-Up.

🪨 JOIN US!💧this Saturday, September 27th for Tashlich & River Clean-Up. This sacred time of Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur demands that we recommit to stopping the genocide and move towards a future of freedom and safety for Palestinians. This is the time of teshuva, of repentance. This weekend, we will together recommit to the work of tikkun olam, repairing the world, which means working harder for an end to the genocide of Gaza and towards freedom for the Palestinian people, calling on the U.S. to stop arming Israel. Together, we will gather for the practice of tashlich, of casting away our complicity in the Israeli military’s genocide of the Palestinian people. Join us as we clean our local river, which has been polluted by everything from literal pollution and the history of colonialism to local ICE raids and local support for the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Together, we will cast away complicity and welcome in community, action, and Palestinian freedom. Join us, and bring your friends and family, including little ones! Saturday, September 27th from 12:00pm - 2:00pm LA River – service at Lewish MacAdams Riverfront Park, moving to the river for ritual and clean-up. Clean-up materials such as gloves and bags will be provided. Wear white if possible! In addition, swipe to see @ifnotnowla’s other high holiday events! Link in their bio to RSVP🍯🍎
