The May Day Coalition, composed of over one hundred organizations, are mobilizing under the powerful banner: “Solo El Pueblo Shuts it Down – No Work. No School. No Shopping”. We are meeting on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at MacArthur Park on the corner of Park View and Wilshire at 10 AM. Our Demands for May 1st - Protect and expand Voting Rights -Dump Trump’s Terror - Legalization and Citizenship now! - Ban discrimination against the LGBTQIA community - An economy that works for all - Tax the billionaires and corporations to fully fund safety net programs. - Defend Worker Rights - No U.S. Wars Join the labor, faith, immigrant rights, and social justice movements to declare that "We the People Shut it Down." We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.
