Join us Saturday, September 13 at 10 AM as we come together across Pennsylvania to send a message to Citizens Bank and raise awareness in our communities about the Citizen’s role in supporting for-profit detention operators. Citizens Financial Group, through subsidiaries like Citizens Bank, has long financed private prison and detention operators despite decades of allegations of abuse, neglect, forced labor, and fraud. Companies like CoreCivic and GEO Group have caused widespread harm — including wrongful deaths, medical neglect, and exploitation. Right here in Pennsylvania, GEO operates the Moshannon Valley Processing Center, the largest ICE detention facility in the Northeast, just three and a half hours from Lower Merion. Join us-- and others statewide-- to tell Citizens Bank that we want them to stop supporting cruelty. We will protest at one or two Lower Merion branches based on the level of interest in participating (there are branches in Ardmore, Wynnewood, Narberth and Bala Cynwyd). A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
