On the 10th of January fascists have called for a "remigration demo" in Manchester city centre. Our city has shown many times over that we will actively struggle against fascism wherever it rears its head. It is time for us to take to the streets again!
This fascist demonstration is yet another symptom of the system in crisis. From Starmer’s racist comments about Britain being "an island of strangers", to the introduction of the "one in one out" asylum policy that demonises people displaced by crises the British state creates. We are faced with fascism trying to erode our communities: flags to make people unwelcome, attacks on migrants, people of colour and LGBTI+. We see the genocides in Palestine, Sudan and Congo our government supports and the hunger strikers held without trial in our prisons, risking death whilst the state tries to silence them. We see the wave of militarism and war preparations across Europe.
We know that all these things are connected and that the fascists planning to call for remigration in our city are defending the system that oppresses us. To struggle against this we must struggle together and fight on all fronts. We know that the people of Manchester can fight this fight, have been doing so and have been winning. Join us on the streets on the 10th January to fight fascism in our city.
Fight for the people! Fight for the streets!
