Palantir are a hideous surveillance and military tech company that was awarded a controversial £330m contract to run a new NHS data system across England - the Federated Data Platform. The company is a Gold Sponsors of the private NHS management event on June 11th and 12th in Manchester. The big tech firm supplies tech to the Israeli military as it enacts its horrific genocide on Gaza and attacks the West Bank. In relation to working with Israel, Palantir’s co-founder has said, “we are trying to keep the good guys armed and ahead”. Many trusts across England have already said it doesn’t make sense for them to adopt the data system (check out the link in the bio for HW4FP for more info on your local trust). Greater Manchester ICB has already told NHSE that its not going to implement the data system as it doesn’t add capability above or beyond what the ICB already has in place. It said the adoption would be a backwards step with many hidden costs that local services could be lumped with and it cited patient, data controller, and local activists concerns as considerations in not going with Palantir’s tech.
