Loudermilk "Restoring the Constitution" Coalition Led Protest

Join us on Saturday, December 13 from 11 AM to 1 PM at 63 Ernest W Barrett Pkwy NW in Marietta as we gather on the public sidewalk during Rep. Barry Loudermilk’s “Restoring the Constitution” talk. Across race, faith, and background, people in our community believe the Constitution is a living promise that still protects checks and balances, voting rights, and peaceful transfers of power. When an elected official claims to defend that promise, their actions should match their words. Right now in 2025, Barry Loudermilk is doing the opposite. He continues to present himself as a champion of constitutional principles while supporting efforts that weaken them. He has defended attempts to put the executive branch above accountability, echoed narratives that excuse attacks on the peaceful transfer of power, and backed limits on voting access that reduce the ability of Georgians to participate in their own democracy. He talks like a constitutional guardian while helping advance an agenda that concentrates power and restricts rights. Our message: If you believe in the Constitution, your actions should match your words. Parking: There appears to be ample parking at the speaking location and in the adjoining shopping center lot. Also consider Barnes and Noble/Ross/Publix shopping center across the street for more parking. What to wear: BLACK clothing is encouraged for those attending the talk and those outside protesting to represent the mourning of the Constitution. American flags are welcome. Patriotic visuals reinforce that the Constitution belongs to the people. Signs of Fascism: We will have our 13 signs of fascism and will need 13 volunteers to hold these. Please wear black if you would like to participate in this sign holding display. If you have experience as a medic, deescalator, or safety marshal, please bring your vest and any standard equipment you normally carry. Your presence helps keep the event calm, organized, and accessible for everyone. If you don't have these things, they will also be on sight for you to pick up. Recommended signs: • The Constitution Is Not a Campaign Prop • You Cannot Preach Constitution and Excuse Jan 6 • Defend the Constitution. Do Not Undermine It • Barry, Honor Your Oath. Uphold the Constitution • Barry, Stop Undermining Voting Rights • We Want Representatives Who Defend Democracy • Protect Voting Rights. Protect the Constitution • Choose the Constitution Over Party Rep. Loudermilk claims to defend the Constitution, but his record does not line up. The Constitution is a set of obligations, not a marketing slogan. If he wants to claim it, he should uphold it.
