MARTINEZ, CA - May Day 2026: Workers Over Billionaires | Protect County Workers

May Day Strong

Join us at noon on Friday, May 1 for a rally at the County Building Plaza in Martinez, to participate in a national day of action protesting the brutal billionaire takeover of our country, and to put working families first. Learn from our labor and community leaders about the devastating potential impact of MAGA budget cuts on thousands of people who seek and provide essential services in Contra Costa County, and what we can do to stop it. A commitment to nonviolent action is a core principle behind all May Day events. All hosts and participants are expected to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who may disagree. Martinez event sponsors: Contra Costa Labor Council, International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) Local 21, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) 1021, SEIU 2015, and Indivisible ReSisters Contra Costa The national day of action is coordinated by May Day Strong, a network bringing together workers, immigrants, students, and families, to stand against the billionaire agenda and build collective power (https://maydaystrong.org/coalition). By attending or participating in this event, you acknowledge that media outlets and event partners’ members may capture and use photos or videos taken during the event. No additional permissions or compensation will be provided. Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
