NARRATIVES OF RESISTANCE Film Screening Details Dates: Friday 21 to Sunday 23 November Location: Blindside Gallery, The Nicholas Building, Room 14, Level 7, 37 Swanston St TICKETS https://events.humanitix.com/nor-melbourne-film-festival Narratives of Resistance (NOR) has curated a free art exhibition from 8 artists living in Gaza, to show art in resistance from 19th November onwards. This art exhibition will lead into our Mini Film Festival featuring daily life under displacement, happening from Friday 21st November until Sunday 23rd November. With help from Free Palestine Melbourne and BLINDSIDE Art Gallery, the festival will screen 7 short films and documentaries from the Palestine Film Institute and Nakba FilmWorks. Each film will be followed by a short discussion. For the past year, Narratives of Resistance (NOR) has organised film fundraisers in Vienna, Hong Kong, Toronto, Bristol, Rotterdam, Kuala Lumpur and Nottingham, and raised around $12,000 USD. Everything raised has been donated to community aid initiatives for Palestine, and directly to Palestinian families. Program Friday 21 November 21: 5.30pm: 20 Handshakes for Peace (2020) with Muayad Ali and Noura Mansour 7pm: A World Not Ours (2012) with Mai Saif and Muayad Ali Saturday 22 November: 2pm: A Man Returned (2016) with Amin Abbas and Yousef Alreemawi 4pm: Tell al-Zaatar (1977) with Adnan Mansour and Yousef Alreemawi 5.30pm: Little Narratives Poetry Workshop with Hollen Singleton Sunday 23 November: 2pm: Xenos (2013) with Mohammed Yousef 3pm: 3 Logical Exits (2020) with Mohammed Yousef 4pm: Spirituality and Resistance workshop with Tracey Matthew 5pm: To My Father (2008) with Mai Saif and Adnan Mansour
