In yet another show of bald-faced warmongering from the Trump administration, the U.S. has deployed warships to the coast of Venezuela, on the pretense of taking down the Venezuelan “narco-state.” Trump even claims that the U.S. Navy has already struck three small fishing boats – according to him, full of “Tren de Aragua gang members” – which he claims were headed to the U.S. bearing drugs. This most recent escalation is overt and directly threatens Venezuelans who are now down-barrel from U.S. warships in their own waters.
