The Freedom Giver

Join us on Wednesday, September 24th, for a screening of “The Freedom Giver,” a 1987 documentary by Kais al-Zubaidy. Composed from archival photography and scenes from narrative films, “The Freedom Giver” documents the Zionist aggression against Palestinian forces in Lebanon and the subsequent national resistance against israeli occupation, leading to the outbreak of the First Intifada in Palestine. The film features music from Marcel Khalife, as well as Ziad Rahbani’s famous song “If he stands South, he stands with his children,” performed here by artist Sami Hawat.
