Jewish Voice for Peace New Orleans

Tashlich

What do we want to leave in the past both personally and collectively? What will we commit to going forward? Jewish Voice for Peace New Orleans invites you to join us on Saturday, September 27th for Tashlich. We gather at Cabrini bridge on Bayou St. John at 5p. Ritual begins at 5:30p. Please wear white. All ages welcome.  The Tashlich ritual provides an opportunity for us to symbolically “cast off” past behaviors through which we’ve fallen short—but importantly, it does not relieve us of culpability for our actions. Tashlich calls on each of us to take responsibility, to recommit to a better way in the new year. We will reaffirm our rejection of genocidal regimes and choose life, as the holidays command us. One year since our last Tashlich ritual-action and two years into Israel’s escalated genocide on Palestine, we continue to hold our government accountable and demand that the U.S. government divest from genocide, and invest in life-sustaining policy here in the United States. One year later, our campaign is still committed to our goal: BREAK THE BONDS!! Join us in the perpetual task of casting off Zionism; recommit to solidarity and liberation. Together, we will end Israel’s Palestinian genocide. Palestine will be free within our lifetime. No more money for Israel’s crimes! * Have accessibility questions or unmet access needs? DM @jvpnola to submit accommodation requests. * COVID safety: Gathering is outdoors. Masks will be available for any who would like one. #BreakTheBonds
