This centennial of Black History Month, join us for a film series curated by Daniel Simmons III at the Paul and Eslanda Robeson Cinema at The People’s Forum. Featuring four powerful documentaries that illuminate the enduring spirit of Black resistance and struggle for liberation: celebrate the brilliant legacy of revolutionary scholar Walter Rodney, whose ideas continue to inspire movements worldwide; bear witness to the Civil Rights Revolution in “I Heard It Through The Grapevine”; feel the transformative energy of 1967’s “Now Is The Time” as ordinary people became architects of change; and discover the resilience of the Wilmington 10, whose struggle against injustice sparked a movement that eventually won their freedom.
