Day one of a six-part series that begins with the question: What is zionism? Educators and teachers from New York City Educators for Palestine will facilitate a program in which students begin to grapple with the history, meaning, and context of zionism. Subsequent teach-ins in this series will dive beyond zionism to consider contemporary and historical Palestinian resistance, Palestinian culture, Palestine’s deliberate absence from the mainstream classroom, and paths toward action.
