'CUMBE' Teach-In & Community Dinner: ILLUMINATING AFRO INDIGENOUS RESISTANCE IN OUR MOVEMENT AGAINST U.S IMPERIALISM IN VENEZUELA

Join us! Bring a dish & a friend Friday January 23rd for our monthly community dinner and teach in to discuss and learn about : Ongoing resistance and the history of the u.s. attacks and sanctions on Venezuela and the Caribbean. Dispelling reactionary myths, and u.s. government / corporate media lies. Learning from the history of Venezuela’s Cumbés and Afro Indigenous maroon societies as tools for organizing in Harlem right now. Engage in an ancestral healing space to release, rage and recharge. January 3, 2026 the united states government broke international law, in an unprovoked bombing of Venezuela that killed 100 people and in the kidnapping of Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro and his partner Cilia Flores. This is the latest in a long legacy of imperialism and bullying by the united states across the Americas the Carribbean and indeed around the global south to steal resources and take power. This attack is NOT about “narco terrorism” or any cartel but about the Venezuelan people’s pursuit of socialism and the development of a nationalized economy that serves its people instead of the united states interests! 3. The New/Old Imperialism: Analyses of the Current Caribbean - Tina Mfanga @claudiajonesschool 4 ,5. In a career of a few years, of intense artistic work and cultural research, they made known the African-American musical roots of their country, spreading songs with messages of liberation. 6.
