In solidarity with communities around us and in conjunction with local, grassroots Indivisible groups, join us for Saturday Morning Protests! Every Saturday from 9-10:30am, we’ll gather in front of City Hall in O’Fallon, IL, for a peaceful protest to let our government officials and community know that we stand against the awful actions of the current administration. Whether you care about cuts to Medicare, attacks on science, or the cruelty of our current immigration system—choose an issue, make a sign (just cardboard and marker is fine), and meet us in O’Fallon on Saturdays! Why protest? (1) Protests are effective - We saw their effectiveness in Serbia in 2000, Ukraine in 2014, S. Korea in 2024, etc. (2) Protests change the narrative, bring-in new people, foster community, and spread courage. (3) Protests cause MAGA loyalists to defect and refuse to comply. (4) Protests make repression backfire. (5) Protests involve mass participation that brings Power, and that Power enables larger actions such as boycotts, mass non-cooperation like a General Strike, etc.
