This week we are standing in solidarity with Indivisible Memphis in a statewide action to say No Troops in TN! We love our military and our veterans, but the military should NEVER be used against its own citizens! The National Guard is set to be deployed to the streets of Memphis on Sept 30th and that's NOT what TN needs! We need real reform and change, not deploying our military against us. Join us on Saturday, September 27th from 12-2pm on Illinois Ave public sidewalk between Nissan and ORAU (in front of Armour Gym and Oakeys). As always, this is a peaceful protest and we ask all participants not to engage with any agitators and always deescalate where needed. There are some shade trees at this location and we will have sunscreen, bug spray, cold water, and extra signs. Come join us! This is more important than ever with our First Amendment rights under threat! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
