We will be screening The Wanted 18 on Saturday Oct 11 @ 6:30. The showing will include a full-length film screening as well as prizes and community-led discussion on why it is relevant to our current political moment. Content will be appropriate for all ages and families are encouraged to attend! This will be a great opportunity to meet our neighbors in a fun and relaxed setting. Remember to bring a blanket to sit on and warm layers for the night chill. The Wanted 18 uses a combination of stop motion animation and live interviews to tell the story of a Palestinian collective farm that purchased 18 cows to produce milk for their town. In response, the Israeli government declares the cows a risk to its national security. The farm is forced to go underground as military officials search for the cows and food production is turned into an act of resistance.
