Stop Weaponizing Antisemitism
On July 15, the Massachusetts Joint Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing, regarding a bill (H.1763) to formally codify the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism into Massachusetts' anti-discrimination law.
Because the IHRA definition conflates many statements against Israel with antisemitism, many Massachusetts residents expressed concern that its adoption would violate the constitutional right to free speech, increase censorship, and ultimately make Jews, Palestinians, and others less safe. These testimonies represent the large number of Massachusetts residents who reject the adoption and codification of the IHRA definition.
