He was commissioned as an officer into the Army as an Infantry Officer and later attended Special Forces selection and became a Green Beret. Through this career, Anthony deployed to combat on 12 occasions in 4 wars, to include Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Mindanao Philippines, and Tajikistan. He has been awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat and the Bronze Star Medal for Valor in combat. He retired from the Army in March and was hired by UG Solutions in May to work under the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in Gaza. He has spoken about the “abhorrent” and “unnecessary” deadly tactics he witnessed firsthand at the aid sites run by the controversial US- and Israel-backed contractor. He explained that the Israeli military controls the crowd “using automatic machinegun fire, artillery rounds, mortar rounds, and at times, tank fire from the Merkava tank against unarmed, starving civilians, women, children, the disabled”.
