HARD CONVOS 4 THE JEWISH LEFT

Jewish Voices for Peace -JVP - DC Metro

At this month’s meeting of Hard Convos 4 the Jewish Left we are doing something a little different! On March 22 from 4-5:30pm, we will meet virtually to discuss topics and questions from a recent episode of @jewishcurrentsmag podcast, On the Nose. The episode, titled “Who’s Afraid of the Z-Word,” features a conversation between Arielle Angel, Jewish Currents editor-in-chief; Ari Lev Fornari, senior rabbi at Kol Tzedek (Philadelphia); Dove Kent, interim executive director of Diaspora Alliance and former executive director of Jews For Racial and Economic Justice; and Fadi Quran, the senior director at Avaaz and a Ramallah-based strategist and organizer. In their conversation, Arielle, Ari, Dove, and Fadi engage in conjunctural analysis around a 2025 poll by the Jewish Federation of North America which shows that while 88% of respondents said they “believe Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish, democratic state,” only 37% identified as “Zionist.” Their discussion delves into questions that are crucial for us to wrestle with as we continue to look for ways forward in the movement for Palestinian liberation and for an end to Zionist apartheid. **Please listen to the podcast episode in advance of the meeting in order to fully participate in our convo! Listen at https://jewishcurrents.org/whos-afraid-of-the-z-word (or wherever you get your podcasts).** **If there is a particular part of the episode you are interested in discussing, email the time stamp and any questions you want to discuss to [email protected] by Sunday, March 22 at 1pm.** RSVP: bit.ly/jvphardconvos
