Discussion on American Trade Unionism

Leading up to the @dfwmayday coalition's May 1st [International Workers Day] action at City Hall in Dallas, come join us for a hybrid discussion on American Trade Unionism, a critical text on the history of the labor movement by the remarkable communist leader William Z Foster. American Trade Unionism is a book that is valuable to anyone in the labor movement currently engaged in rank and file struggles We will be lead in discussion by Chris Townsend, a 47 year union member. He was most recently the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) International Union Organizing Director. Previously he was an International Representative and Political Action Director for the United Electrical Workers Union (UE), and he has held local positions in both the SEIU and UFCW. Townsend was also the co-founder of the Inside Organizer School in 2017, the project which gave birth to the Starbucks union organizing movement and other successful salting campaigns.
