Mumia has been incarcerated for more than 44 years and has been continuously punished for his principled stances and unbending political commitments. Join longtime comrade and friend of the show, Jared Ware, Johanna Fernández @jfernandez1202 and Gabe Bryant @goodbrothergabe , stalwart organizers in the fight for Mumia Abu Jamal’s liberation. Johanna Fernández is the author of The Young Lords: A Radical History (UNC Press, February 2020), a history of the Puerto Rican counterpart of the Black Panther Party. She teaches 20th Century US history and the history of social movements. She is the writer and producer of the film, Justice on Trial: the Case of Mumia Abu-Jamal (BigNoise Films, 2010). Gabriel Bryant is a Philadelphia-based activist and organizer for Mobilization4Mumia, dedicated to securing the release of imprisoned journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal. He frequently chairs rallies, webinars, and demonstrations demanding medical care and freedom for Abu-Jamal. Jared Ware is one of the hosts of Millennials Are Killing Capitalism.
