Community Support at Ottawa Courthouse

To Ottawa's Palestinian Community, Next week, there will be a sentencing hearing for the man who assaulted our young Palestinian sister, for who she is, while exercising her right to protest. At the request of the victim and her family, we are calling on our community to show up at the courthouse to stand in solidarity, offer support, and affirm her dignity. Our presence matters. It is a way to show that our community is engaged, paying close attention, and expects accountability grounded in justice, fairness, and the rule of law. It is also a clear message that hate and violence against our community will not be met with silence. We will be there.
