SHUT DOWN CANSEC Protest

Toronto Against CANSEC

Every May, Ottawa hosts CANSEC: Canada's largest weapons trade show. This event is attended by various weapons manufacturers, politicians, military personnel, and more. Every year, our government proudly hosts this disgraceful event, welcoming war criminals with open arms and celebrating the companies that are making it possible to destroy so many lives globally. Last year, 13 local organizations came together to form the Toronto Against CANSEC Committee. We protested against the CANSEC weapons convention in both Toronto and Ottawa, with a clear message: WE OPPOSE CANADA’S COMPLICITY IN THE ARMS INDUSTRY! This year, we're doing it again. We will be sending a contingent to Ottawa to SHUT DOWN CANSEC! We are seeking concerned organizations to join the committee for 2026. If you are part of an organization which opposes Canada's aggressively increasing militarization, we want to hear from you! There are various ways that you can support as a committee member, so even if you aren't sure about what you can contribute, come chat with us! Our action this year will be taking place on May 27th. If you’re interested in joining TO Against CANSEC, please fill out the form linked in our bio. Our first meeting will take place on March 21st, 2pm, in-person (downtown). The specific location will be sent out to meeting registrants. #SHUTDOWNCANSEC
