City Hall Lighting Ceremony

Ottawa: Join us on November 15 at 5 pm at the Human Rights Monument for a commemorative gathering as the City of Ottawa illuminates the Heritage Building at City Hall in the colors of the Palestinian flag 🇵🇸 – from sunset to sunrise. This historic illumination marks the first time ever that a City Hall building will be lit to honor Palestine, following Canada’s recognition of the State of Palestine earlier this year. November 15 marks Palestine’s Independence Day, and while independence remains unfulfilled, we come together on this day to reflect on the immense hardship our people have endured over the past two years and to renew our shared commitment to justice and to Palestine’s liberation. Let’s show our Palestinian pride – wear your thobes and keffiyehs, and bring your Palestinian flags as we stand together as one community to mark this momentous occasion ❤️🖤🤍💚 #palestine #ottawaevents #cityofottawa #indepenceday #heritage
