Enjoy STREET THEATER involving “the Grump” vs Lady Liberty & her freedom-loving allies at the December rally of Stand Up for Science & Sanity. Our COSTUME PARTY will be populated with Scrooge-like billionaires & symbols of democracy like Lady Liberty. Consider coming as a Portlandesque frog or other friendly creature or just bring a friend and your protest sign. We stand up for healthcare, democracy, science--plenty to choose from. SPEECHES: We'll hear from a solar scientist and a woman whose family struggles with a genetic illness, though finally after decades progress has been made; far more needs to be done by restoring NIH & NSF funding and providing healthcare all. MUSIC: The Raging Grannies will entertain us with their funny costumes & protest songs & the MItchell Park Band will play before & after.
