HANDS OFF VENEZUELA!!

*Join us to protest the illegal invasion in Venezuela by Trump and the US govt. *Sunday, January 11; 2-3 pm *Site: The sidewalk on 211, between Main St. (Taylortown) to Central Park Ave, Pinehurst. *Bring signs! Trump had to go to Congress for approval. His continual flouting of the Constitution is illegal. No clear rationale has been given: To destroy “narco-terrorists”? Venezuela is not a meaningful producer of drugs that are sold in the US (its cocaine goes mostly to Europe). They are also claiming that the Monroe Doctrine (the Don-roe Doctrine?) gives us the right to restore our dominance in the Western Hemisphere (this would give justification to Russia and China to assert themselves in their regions). Will we now run Venezuela? They have sought no legal justification for this action, neither US law nor international law. Some suggestions for signs. Bring your clever signs to share in this protest! “No Blood for Oil.” “Remember the Constitution!” “Without Congress, this invasion is illegal” “No national security threat to the US” “Trump’s warmongering violates the law” “No regime change!” “No nation building!” HANDS OFF VENEZUELA! Sun., Jan. 11, 2-3 pm, 211 between Main St. and Central Park Ave, Pinehurst. A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
