Arresting Power: Resisting Police Violence in Portland, OR

Join us this Saturday, October 11th at 1:30 PM for a screening and follow up discussion of the 2015 documentary “Arresting Power: Resisting Police Violence in Portland, Oregon” and the continued struggle for justice and Black liberation! RSVP at the link in our bio! “Arresting Power” documents the history of conflict between the Portland police and community members throughout the past fifty years. The film features personal stories of resistance told by victims of police misconduct, the families of people who were killed by police, and members of Portland’s reform and abolition movements. Stay after the film for a discussion of the impacts of police violence and how we can imagine and win a world without police. CONTENT WARNING: The film and discussion contain disturbing and intense content related to police brutality, sexual assault, and systemic violence. Please use your discretion.
