Indivisible
Abolish ICE
Protests continue to grow across the U.S. as citizens stand up against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) due to concerns over harsh enforcement tactics, family separations, detention conditions, and recent high-profile incidents, like the fatal shooting of Renee Good. This is leading to demands for agency reform or abolition, focusing on human rights, humane treatment, and a more compassionate immigration approach.
We will continue to protest mass raids, deportations, and conditions in detention centers, advocating for immigrant rights and challenging federal policies, especially those under the Trump administration.
Key Reasons To Protest:
Police Brutality & Shootings: Recent events have sparked widespread outrage. We are demanding accountability.
Family Separations: The Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy led to mass family separations, galvanizing the "Abolish ICE" movement. We are demanding an end to these practices.
Detention Conditions: Poor medical care, inadequate conditions, and deaths in ICE detention facilities. We are calling for better treatment and closure of these centers.
Mass Raids & Deportations: Increased ICE enforcement, including workplace raids and operations in sensitive areas like schools. This fuels our protests against perceived overreach and community disruption.
Human Rights Concerns: ICE's actions are inhumane, violating human rights and tearing apart communities. We are fighting for a more just immigration system.
Systemic Issues: ICE enforcement has lead to broader issues like mass criminalization, linking immigration enforcement to environmental justice, Indigenous rights, and LGBTQ+ rights.
What We Stand For:
~Abolition or significant reform of ICE.
~An end to family detention and separation.
~Better conditions and care in detention centers.
~More humane approaches to immigration enforcement.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
