Hudson Valley, NY: No Fracked Gas Pipelines in the State Energy Plan!
New York State is releasing a draft energy plan and is requesting our input! The energy plan provides broad policy direction that guides state energy-related decision making. It includes recommendations through 2040 for meeting the state's energy demand.
Right now, Governor Hochul is considering approving new fracked gas pipelines that will lock New York into decades of dirty energy, jack up our utility bills, and harm our climate.
We're showing up at the energy hearing to make sure the state knows New Yorkers don't want any fossil fuels or nuclear energy powering New York! We can meet our energy needs with 100% renewable energy.
We'll meet up before the energy hearing for a rally outside, then we'll head inside to make comments. The hearing runs from 5pm to 7pm. Participants who pre-register to make comments will be given priority, though you can also register at the venue.
Talking points will be emailed to RSVPs!
