Protest DEMANDING THE REPEAL OF THE TRANSGENDER PERSONS (PROTECTION OF RIGHTS) AMENDMENT BILL 2026
Mist LGBTQ Foundation
Our Visibility is Not a Debate. Our Rights are Not Negotiable.
This Transgender Day of Visibility (March 31), we aren’t just celebrating how far we’ve come—we are standing up against how far the law is trying to push us back.
The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026 threatens the fundamental dignity of our community. By replacing self-identification with mandatory medical boards and redefining who we are through a narrow lens, this Bill ignores our lived realities and our right to bodily autonomy.
We will not be silenced. We will be seen.
Join the Movement in Pune:
1. The Morning: Dialogue & Awareness
What: Event and Press Conference
When: 10:00 AM
Where: Samajik Nyay Bhavan, Vishrantwadi (Near Police Station)
Why: We are bringing the community’s concerns directly to the Social Welfare Department to ensure our voices reach those in power.
2. The Evening: Resistance & Power
What: Protest demanding the REPEAL of the 2026 Amendment Bill.
When: 4:00 PM
Where: Collector’s Office, Pune
Why: To show the strength of our collective dissent. We demand laws that protect us, not police us.
Why You Need to Be There:
Whether you are a member of the community or an ally, your presence matters. This isn’t just a “trans issue”—it is a human rights issue. When the state begins to dictate identity through medical certification, it sets a dangerous precedent for everyone.
Bring your placards, bring your pride, and bring your rage. Co-organised by: Mist LGBTQ Foundation | Pune Queer Collective | DMBS Pune | Rainbow Roots Foundation
