No Kings 2.0 - Roseburg

Let's Recap In June, Roseburg made history. In a town of just 23,795, more than 2,000 people lined the sidewalks of Garden Valley Blvd to defend democracy and reject Trump’s wannabe monarchy. We stood shoulder-to-shoulder with millions across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and 20 foreign countries. Trump’s attempt to turn June 14th into a coronation backfired — his birthday parade was drowned out by protests across the nation and the world. The story of the day wasn’t him, it was us: a movement rising to say America has no kings. Now it’s time to do it again. On Saturday, October 18th, we’re lining the sidewalks of Stewart Parkway in Roseburg, between NW Edenbower Blvd and Renann Street — a larger location to accommodate even more people and parking. Together, with a nationwide coalition of over 200 organizations, we’ll make our voices heard once more. Trump is doubling down on authoritarian power grabs — disappearing immigrants into sprawling camps, sending troops into cities, threatening elections, and showering his billionaire allies with giveaways while families struggle. Our response must be louder, bigger, and bolder than before. Our message hasn’t changed: No to fascism. No to authoritarianism. No to racism, xenophobia, and hatred of immigrants. No to genocide funded by the U.S. and carried out by Israel. No kings in the USA. We showed up on June 14th. On October 18th, we’ll show up again — stronger than ever. This is a nationwide Indivisible event! What to Bring & How to Show Up This movement is powered by creativity, courage, and community. When you come out on October 18th, think of it as more than a protest — it’s a demonstration of people power that can’t be ignored. Make Your Voice Visible: Bring signs that speak truth to power. Some ideas: “No Kings in the USA” “Democracy, Not Dictatorship” “No to Fascism, No to Tyrants” “Resist Authoritarianism” “Stop Funding Genocide” “Freedom Belongs to the People” “Deport I.C.E.” “I.C.E. = State Terror” Feel free to put your own spin on it — be bold, be direct, and don’t hold back. Get Creative: The more eye-catching, the better: Giant puppets Creative props Costumes Banners, flags Anything that draws attention and amplifies our message. Think street theater meets democracy defense. Stay Comfortable: We’ll be out on the sidewalks for the duration of the protest, so plan ahead: Water to stay hydrated A snack to keep your energy up Sunglasses and sunscreen A hat or umbrella for shade Comfortable shoes Please note: there are no bathrooms available on site, so plan accordingly before you arrive. When we show up together — visible, loud, and unstoppable — we turn the tide. Bring your voice, your creativity, and your courage. A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
