Indivisible
Protect Our Planet Event With The Douglas County Global Warming Coalition
Indivisible Douglas County Joins the Douglas County Global Warming Coalition
Indivisible Douglas County is joining the Douglas County Global Warming Coalition in their protest to protect our environment. We’re proud to join their protest and stand in solidarity. The climate crisis is real, it’s urgent, and our voices together can make a difference.
Location Change
Please note: this protest will not be at our usual location.
We are moving to join DCGWC in front of CHI Mercy Hospital on Stewart Parkway, between the Northwest Edenbower Boulevard and Renann Street.
Signs and Messaging
We know not everyone will bring signs related to the environment, and that’s okay. All messages for democracy, justice, and freedom belong here. But if you do care deeply about the climate, we encourage you to bring an environment-focused sign and stand with or near the Douglas County Global Warming Coalition so that our collective message on climate shines through.
Here are some ideas you can use or adapt for your signs:
1. There Is No Planet B
2. Forests Are Our Lungs
3. Water Is Life
4. We Can’t Breathe Money
5. Stop Cooking the Planet
6. Protect Public Lands, Protect Our Future
7. Air, Water, Land — Protect It All
8. No Clear-Cuts, No Excuses
9. The Planet Over Profit
10. Defend What We Love
What to Bring
A sign (environmental if possible, but all justice-related messages are welcome)
Water and a snack
Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses for sun protection
Comfortable shoes
Be creative! Puppets, costumes, or unique visuals are encouraged — anything that draws attention to the cause
Please note: there are no bathroom facilities available on site, so plan accordingly.
Parking Reminder
Please do not park at CHI Mercy Hospital. We want to keep those spaces available for staff, patients, and family members visiting the hospital. Look for nearby public or street parking instead.
Together, we can show the community that protecting our environment is protecting all of us.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
