No Kings
NO KINGS Saco
In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.
Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.
The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.
_A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
Overview: Saco Bay INDIVISIBLE's NO KINGS Rally/standout will be at the Saco Transportation Center,138 Main Street. Protesters can spread out all along the west side of Main Street. We’ll have music playing and some great speakers, including Rep. Ryan Fecteau, Speaker of the Maine House! Stand out and/or bring a camp chair and listen to the music and speakers. Also be sure to check out the social action tables.
Safety: Everyone's safety is our top priority. This event is designed as a peaceful social action. While you may stand on the sidewalks, please do not block them, roadways or the tracks, nor interfere with the safe flow of traffic. If anything arises that concerns you, please let a member of our team know.
Parking: We encourage carpooling. There are many free 2-hour parking spots and lots of paid parking spots at the Center and in the parking lot just north of the tracks. Please do not take up the spots designated for residents or businesses as you will risk being towed. There is additional parking downtown.
Public Restrooms: There is a public restroom in the Transportation Center. Please leave your signs outside of the building.
Food/Beverages: There’s lots of great places to grab a bite in Saco, but they do get a bit busy on Saturday mornings. We will have a few bottles of water available, but we suggest you bring along a beverage for yourself. Afterwards, come enjoy Saco’s Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Burns School!
Signs and Noisemakers: Please be aware that children are present. Bring a sign if you can, as we usually run out for these large events. Keep signs out of the roadways please. You are welcome to bring a drum or other noisemaker, but please nothing overly distracting (e.g. sirens, whistles).
Volunteers: We can use a few more volunteers to help with distributing literature, peacekeeping, parking and medical. Please email us at [email protected] if you have availability to lend a hand and which role would be most suitable.
Now, let’s get out there and help send a powerful message to Washington!
