First Amendment Rights Day on the Hill

Jewish Voice for Peace Twin Cities

Join us on March 5th for (the second) First Amendment Rights Day on the Hill. 🪧🏛️ MN Statutes 3.226 and 16C.053, 📜 deny state contracts to MN companies for exercising their First Amendment rights by boycotting Israel. This is a requirement of allegiance to a foreign country in order for Minnesotans to do business in their own state! It violates all Minnesotans’ their free speech rights and is also being used as a template for newly proposed law (SF 851) to penalize boycotting fossil fuels in Minnesota and will likely serve as precedent for even more violations of our First Amendment Rights. We are lobbying in support of HF 3258 / SF 3356 - bills to Repeal the anti-boycott laws passed in 2017. 💪 We come from nearly 40 organizations which promote and advocate for human rights, civil rights, labor rights, religious freedom for all, and environmental and climate justice. We will come together to advocate for freedom of speech, tell our stories to legislators and persuade them to Repeal the Anti-Boycott Law! 📣 Register to be part of this action! ✊ Link in bio!
