JVP-BA Kids and Families Shabbat
We invite you to join JVP-BA Kids and Families for an afternoon Shabbat gathering in Berkeley on September 13th, 3:00-6:00 PM centering rest, community, and Palestinian liberation.
This event is open to all ages, Jewish or not, and will include mindful movement, stations featuring art projects and kid-appropriate activism opportunities, and time to schmooze and build community. The program will include a short teaching on the meaning of Shabbat from an anti-Zionist liberatory perspective and will close with a brief Havdalah ritual. Please arrive by 3:45 to experience our short program prior to an early potluck dinner served around 4:30. Please bring a dish if you can - preferably something any kids in your party will be excited to eat!
The gathering will take place outdoors. Masking is encouraged when not eating and drinking, and we will have masks available. Please stay home if you are ill. The space is a level backyard and a ground floor bathroom is available. Please let us know if anyone in your family has specific access needs, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
RSVP via our Linktree (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfRa6DMddKupkc6gjk7Z6_FfSmDjLFCvdCOGgQTpc30L_Q8ew/viewform) and you will get an email with the exact location. We look forward to building community with you!
