UPDATE: TYPHOON RELIEF FUNDRAISER In light of the devastation caused by Typhoon Uwan in the Philippines, we will be fundraising for relief efforts at our screening of "Palayain! The Filipino People's Fight for Peace." Join San Jose Against War and League of Filipino Students - SJSU for a film screening of the documentary, PALAYAIN! The Filipino People's Fight for Peace. We will also have a guided discussion. About the film: In May 2024, representatives of @bayan_usa and other allies conducted a peace mission in the Philippines to investigate the impacts of US militarism across the Philippines. They visited farming, fisherfolk, and urban poor communities to understand and document their daily conditions and how they are negatively shaped by US militarism. As a result of the mission, organizers created the documentary: "PALAYAIN! The Filipino People's Fight for Peace" to share their experiences with the broader public.
