Indivisible

ICE Out of SLO County!

Rally and vigil Sunday, December 14 at 9 am - 10:30 am at the corner of Hwy 1 and Kansas Avenue. Join us for a rally to protest ICE activity in our beloved community and to hold vigil for those in our community abducted by ICE. It IS happening here! ICE is in our community multiple times a week abducting people from the SLO County jail. Imagine you are waiting for a loved one to be released from the SLO county jail. But before you can be reunited with them, they are kidnapped by masked secret police from the jail right before your eyes. People taken at the jail are being denied due process and representation. They are separated from their children, families and loved ones. Don't turn your back on what is happening in our community. Everyone who is released from the jail should be released regardless of where they were born. The sheriff and county are not being transparent about the interactions with ICE. They have not held the required public forums and have not replied to records requests. The lack of transparency does not make the public safe. We are not safe until all of us are safe. Join us in a rally and vigil for those taken from the SLO county jail on Sunday, December 14 from 9:00 am on the corner of Hwy 1 and Kansas Avenue. Bring large and clear signs expressing our demands for ICE out of all of SLO County, including our jail. A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
