North Kitsap Indivisible
Walk Against ICE
This event is the “First Countywide Grassroots Action for Democracy”. We will meet at the beautiful waterfront park in Old Town Silverdale. We will rally and march with signs supporting immigrants and other at-risk neighbors. After the march, we will gather in the park with inspirational speakers, music and an open mike for attendees to speak and tell their stories. Seven resistance groups from around the county are coming together to make this happen. Meet activists from Poulsbo for All, North Kitsap Indivisible, Kingston Alliance for Democracy, Indivisible Bremerton, Evergreen Resistance, Indivisible Bainbridge Island and South Kitsap Indivisible. After the rally, have a nice lunch in one of the wonderful local restaurants. Please join us. The takeover of DC by Federal Troops was just a rehearsal.
Confirmed Speakers & Participants
KIAC Representative
We're pleased to confirm a representative from KIAC will speak about their vital work empowering immigrants through education, advocacy, and social justice. We'll be fundraising to support their efforts throughout the event.
Pastor Doug Pagitt
Pastor Pagitt is joining us as a featured speaker. A progressive Christian leader who transitioned from ministry to political advocacy, he founded Vote Common Good in 2018—a non-partisan nonprofit that inspires people of faith to engage civically and vote their values rather than party lines. Most recently, he completed a remarkable 3,200-mile ride along the border to advocate for treating immigrants with compassion, not cruelty. Learn more about his journey at wethepeopleride.org.
Gabriela Ituarte
Gabriela Ituarte, Executive Director of the We Are Better Together Foundation (a Bremerton-based nonprofit advocating for the Latino community and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion), will be speaking and tabling at the event.
Local Democratic Party
Our local Democratic Party will attend in support, bringing a shaved ice cart for attendees. They'll be participating as supporters rather than campaigning or tabling.
Still Awaiting Confirmation with WAISN representative and another speaker.
