Stand Up To Racism Portsmouth

Stop Scapegoating Refugees

📣 Stop Scapegoating Refugees 🚨 Harassing people in their home is not legitimate protest 🚨 Far right activity leads to racist attacks Stand up to hate, and stand with innocent refugees, students, parents and all those being targeted by racists. 📅  Saturday 22 November ⏰  3.00pm 📍  Meet outside the Co Op opposite South Parade Pier The local far right splinter group 'Together We Rise And Protect' (TWRAP) will be shouting lies, threats and obscenities outside temporary accommodation for asylum seekers on Saturday. Once again we will come out to oppose them. For your safety, it's advisable not to have any visible badges or banners on your way to the demo, and don't engage with any far right if you see them. These is a peaceful counter-protest called by Stand Up To Racism Portsmouth, to show friendship and solidarity with refugees, to show support for victims of racist attacks, and to show that the far right and fascists are not welcome. We strongly oppose those choosing to 'protest' outside the home of some of the most vulnerable people in society, who have no voice and no power. This is not protest, it's bullying and intimidation. We welcome anyone who wants to stand with us peacefully in solidarity with refugees. We will have stewards whose priority will be people's safety and de-escalating any confrontations. If you have any questions or concerns, please DM us. #StandUpToRacism #RefugeesWelcome #NoRacismNoFascism #NeverAgain
