Stacy Garrity is coming to town on November 13 at Anthony's Ristorante in Springfield! Stacy, Pennsylvania’s State Treasurer, has announced that she’s going to challenge Josh Shapiro for the governorship in 2026. Stacy is a strong ally of Trump and amplifies his misinformation. • She’s an election denier. In a 2022 rally in Greensburg PA, she joined him onstage and declared, “We know that he won.” • She supported the Big Bloated Budget Bill because it protects health care and welfare benefits for vulnerable Americans by requiring able-bodied recipients to work for their benefits and ending benefits for those here illegally. o Stacy doesn’t seem to understand that more than 1.25 million children and two-thirds of nursing home residents are enrolled in Medicaid. o And people who can work are already working as part of the ACA Medicaid expansion. o And, Medicaid is only available to U.S. citizens and certain lawfully present immigrants. • Stacy described Trump’s tariff policy as “common sense measures” that are good for the American people and a “death sentence for the evil forces at play within our own country and abroad.” • Stacy opposes the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative — an interstate program to reduce carbon emissions. She’s a member of the State Financial Officers Foundation, which has encouraged treasurers “to use their power to promote oil and gas interests and to stymie [President Joe] Biden’s climate agenda.” • Stacey says that, as governor, “I will work in lockstep with the Trump Administration to protect our communities and get criminal, illegal aliens off our streets.” • Stacy said she would “respect the current law on the books,” referring to a 1982 Pennsylvania statute allowing abortion through the 23rd week of pregnancy. Where have we heard that one before? Stacy used to sell anti-abortion merchandise on her previous campaign website — “LIFE WON” bumper stickers, “Born to be Pro-Life” onesies, “DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD” T-shirts. You get the picture. On Thursday, November 13, Delco’s GOP are holding a fundraiser for Stacy’s campaign at Anthony’s Ristorante in Springfield. We want to give Stacy a hearty Delco welcome and tell her what we think about her chances to unseat Josh. The event starts at 6:00 pm so we want to be there by 5:30 pm to greet as many of the GOP glitterati as we can. Anthony’s is at the corner of Springfield Road and Eagle Road across from O’Hara. There’s parking in the lot for Sproul Lanes and Dairy Queen. If there’s nothing going on at O’Hara we may be able to park in their lot too. Just remember, it’s Springfield. So come on out and say hey to Stacy. Bring signs that focus on the budget, healthcare (will she keep the Medicaid expansion?), the environment, public education funding, abortion rights, immigration, etc. We’ll bring flags and bubbles and noise makers.
