ICE Protest in Surprise

Protest: ICE Killing of a U.S. Citizen & Escalating ICE Activity in Arizona This Saturday morning, we are gathering in Surprise to protest the ICE killing of Renee Nicole Good, an unarmed U.S. citizen in Minnesota, and to raise the alarm about expanding ICE operations expected in Arizona in the coming weeks, as reported by the Bulwark. As residents of Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, we are also calling on our representative, Abe Hamadeh, to publicly address and oppose federal enforcement actions that endanger civil rights and community safety. Protecting constituents from government overreach is a core responsibility of elected office. This is a peaceful, public demonstration to: Demand transparency and accountability for the killing in Minnesota Oppose the normalization of aggressive federal enforcement actions Stand for due process, human rights, and community safety Challenge Abe Hamadeh to speak up on behalf of CD8 residents instead of endorsing the cruelty of the Trump regime. Signal that our communities are paying attention and will not stay silent Suggested messages for signs: JUSTICE FOR RENEE NICOLE GOOD END ICE NOW NO ICE IN AZ DUE PROCESS FOR ALL IMMIGRATION ≠ CRIMINALIZATION WE LOVE OUR IMMIGRANT NEIGHBORS This protest is rooted in nonviolence, clarity, and solidarity. We welcome community members who believe that no agency should operate above the law and that state power must be constrained by constitutional rights and public oversight. Bring signs, bring water, and bring your voice. Time: Saturday, 9:00 AM Location: Bell Rd. and Civic Center Dr. in Surprise, AZ Peaceful protest. No violence. No harassment. No escalation.
