We are calling for Senator Chuck Schumer to step down as Minority Leader of the Senate. At a time when Democrats swept local elections both locally and all over the country and when we saw the largest public outcry against the Trump agenda with the recent No Kings rallies, we were in a good position to negotiate. One core responsibility of the Minority Leader is to keep the party’s senators aligned around strategy and messaging. And yet Chuck couldn’t keep eight senators from defecting. With key midterms and a changing electorate ahead, a change in leadership will help the party reset and present a new face.
