Indivisible Onondaga County
Pop-up rally
Hi fellow protectors,
Indivisible Onondaga County signed a letter in solidarity with about 560 Indivisibles and other progressive groups nationwide to be delivered to all US Democratic Senators. This letter urges: 1) block of the federal budget to defend healthcare for millions of Americans 2) End this administration’s occupation of US cities 3) Prohibit ICE from wearing masks and requiring them to ID themselves 4) End budget rescissions that terminate funding already approved by Congress 5) End efforts to restrict voter rights 6) End DHS, DOJ, and Palantir’s massive SAVE master database 7) Slash Homeland Security’s funding back to 2024 levels 8) Full reinstatement of all fired independent inspectors generals 9) Full reinstatement of all fired members of NLRB and EEOC 10) Full reinstatement of PBS funding 11) Full resumption of CFPB and USAID 12) Repeal of harmful tariffs and adherence to trade laws 13) Halt construction and shut down all newly built immigration detention centers.
IOC is requesting signage aligned with these demands. MAGA controls every branch of federal government. If the federal government shuts down, it is MAGA’s responsibility, not the minority party. We urge Democratic Senators to stand up and use their voice to lead this fight.
This rally is part of a campaign of recurring “pop-up” rallies at different locations throughout Onondaga County on Fridays from 5-6pm. New weekly location will be announced every Monday for that Friday. Raise your voice with a community of protectors of the Constitution and human rights by peacefully assembling together to exercise our First Amendment rights!
In the influential footsteps of Gandhi and Dr. King, non-violence is not only a strategy for direct action to save our democracy, but a shared value in our personal conduct. Any suggestion otherwise is propaganda. We denounce political violence in the clearest and strongest possible terms.
Additionally, we are an organization of VOLUNTEER activists, organizers, concerned community members, and other protectors of our Constitution. We are NOT paid. Again, any suggestion otherwise is propaganda.
In solidarity
