While we look at political developments south of the border, feeling relief for the geographical luck that placed us in Canada, we must be honest and aware of where Canada is headed (maybe in the same direction?) with its latest thread of legislation. Hidden under the veneer of "national security" and legalese, the fine print of these drafted legislations raises concerns about how surveillance is increasing and the ability to dissent is eroding. We're inviting the community to share their thoughts and concerns about the latest legislature. @leftiejane will kick off this community conversation with an overview of what makes these bills concerning in the current political climate.
