May Day Strong

A coalition of local groups including Indivisible Ukiah, SEIU local 2015, SEIU local 1021, and Mendocino College Federation of Teachers, AFT Local 6322 invite community members to participate in a May Day march and rally on Friday, May 1st from 5 PM to 7 PM. 5:00-5:30 PM: Assemble along the sidewalks of E Perkins from the Pear Tree Center towards downtown with signs, banners, bullhorns. 5:30 PM: March down E Perkins to the Courthouse. 6:00 PM-7:00 PM: Rally at the Courthouse Our event is an opportunity for people to express their demand for policies that put the needs of working people over the bottomless greed of billionaires: NO BILLIONAIRES, NO ICE, NO WAR. Tax the rich to turn the tide back to when they paid their fair share. Restore the funding to health, education, housing, the environment, science and culture that make us a truly strong nation. Stop attacks on immigrants who are an integral part of the fabric of our lives, from farmworkers to primary care physicians. Stop endless, pointless wars that deplete our resources, destroy the environment, target innocent civilians, and alienate us from our allies. Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
